What LR and bilty software does
A lorry receipt is the document a transporter issues when goods are handed over for carriage. Across India the same document is called a bilty, an LR, a lorry receipt or a consignment note, so bilty software, LR software and lorry receipt software all describe the same tool. Written by hand, the LR book causes the same trouble in every transport office:
- Numbering that drifts. A spoiled page or a second book in another branch leaves gaps and repeats that are hard to explain months later.
- Copies that go missing. The office copy is filed somewhere, and when a party disputes a consignment nobody can find it quickly.
- Details typed twice. Consignor, consignee and goods go on the LR, then again into the bill and again into a register.
- No link to money. The LR sits in a book while the invoice, the POD and the payment live in other files, so nobody can see what a trip actually earned.

You set an LR number series once under Number Series / T&C. After that every LR takes the next number automatically, so the register stays in order without anyone tracking the last number used.
Bilty generation software and LR generation software
Both names describe the same step: instead of writing out a blank form, you enter the consignment once and BilToz produces the numbered document with its three copies. If you only need the layout, our blank lorry receipt format shows a sample with each field explained.
Three copies in one PDF
Each LR downloads as a PDF carrying the consignor, consignee and driver copies, ready to print for the driver and the party. The same PDF can be downloaded again later from the order, so a lost copy is never a problem.
Multi-route trips
An order can cover more than one route, and each drop gets its own LR under the same order. The order keeps them together, so a trip with several deliveries stays one job rather than several unrelated receipts.
Parties you already work with
Orders are created against parties and suppliers you have added, with a searchable picker instead of retyping names. Consignor and consignee details still go on each LR, because they change from consignment to consignment.
Every LR stays with its order
Once the trip is completed you upload the POD to that order and download its GST invoice, which lists the order's LRs. To send an LR, download the PDF. The WhatsApp button opens a share panel with a ready-made message: type the party's number under Send to, or leave it blank and pick the chat in WhatsApp, then attach the downloaded PDF yourself.
From sign-up to your first bilty
- Sign up with an OTP. Enter your mobile number, verify it and choose a Transporter account.
- Complete KYC. Verify Aadhaar with an OTP and add your PAN. GSTIN and a GST certificate are optional for a Transporter account and required for a Company account. KYC has to be completed within 30 days of sign-up.
- Fill in your company profile. Add bank details, your logo and a signature or stamp. BilToz needs these before you can create orders, LRs or parties.
- Set your number series. Choose where your LR and invoice numbers start, under Number Series / T&C.
- Add your parties. Add them one at a time, or send an Excel or CSV file to support@biltoz.com for a bulk import. Every party needs a GSTIN and PAN, and every supplier needs a PAN.
- Create the order and its LR. Enter consignor, consignee, goods, truck and driver, then download the LR PDF and hand the driver copy over with the goods.
What this software does not do
Worth knowing before you switch, so nothing surprises you later:
- No e-way bill generation. The LR carries an e-way bill number if you type one. The bill itself is generated on the government portal.
- No GST calculation. Invoices print CGST and SGST as Rs 0.00 with a fixed note about reverse charge (RCM). Whether that suits your trips depends on your and your party's registration, so confirm with your CA.
- Insurance details are not printed. The insurance box on the LR prints blank.
- PODs and invoices come after completion. Both become available once the trip is marked completed, not while it is running.
Frequently asked questions
Is bilty software the same as LR software?
Yes. Bilty is the word most Indian transporters use for the lorry receipt, and LR is short for that same document. Software sold as bilty software, LR software, lorry receipt software or bilty generation software all does the same job: it records a consignment you have accepted for carriage and prints the copies that travel with the goods.
Is BilToz LR and bilty software free?
Yes, during the launch period. Every feature costs Rs 0, with no credit card, no trial period and no limit on how many LRs you create. Paid plans may come later, and BilToz will give notice before introducing them. You sign up with your mobile number and an OTP.
How many copies does each LR print?
One PDF with the consignor, consignee and driver copies. You can download it or print it, and you can download it again later from the order.
Does BilToz generate e-way bills?
No. BilToz does not generate or file e-way bills. If a consignment has one, you type the e-way bill number on the LR and it prints on the LR PDF. The e-way bill itself is generated on the government portal, and whether a consignment needs one depends on the rules that apply to it, so confirm with your CA.
Can a company account create LRs?
No. Only a Transporter account creates orders, LRs and invoices. Company accounts are for businesses that send goods.
What do I need before I create my first LR?
Sign up with an OTP, complete KYC with Aadhaar and PAN, fill in your company profile with bank details, logo and a signature or stamp, and set your LR number series. BilToz refuses to create orders, LRs or parties until the profile is complete.
