What a transport management system does
Most transport offices run on three separate records: an LR book for consignments, a bill book for freight, and a notebook or spreadsheet for who has paid. Each one is correct on its own, and together they disagree. A transport management system removes the gap by keeping one record per trip.
- One order per trip. Routes, LRs, costs and revenue sit under the same job, including trips with several drops.
- Documents that number themselves. LRs and invoices follow your own series, so the register has no gaps or repeats.
- Money tied to the trip. What a party owes and what a supplier is owed both point back to the order that created them.
- Proof kept with the bill. The POD sits with the order it belongs to, so a disputed bill is answered in seconds.
What BilToz transport management software covers
| Part of the system | What it does |
|---|---|
| Orders | One job per trip, holding its routes, LRs, costs and revenue. Multi-route trips stay under a single order. |
| LRs (lorry receipts) | Auto-numbered from your own series, downloaded as a PDF carrying the consignor, consignee and driver copies. |
| GST invoices | One invoice per completed order, listing that order's LRs. CGST and SGST print as Rs 0.00 with a fixed reverse charge (RCM) note. |
| Party payments | Receipts recorded against a party's invoices, settled one at a time or several together, with pending amounts and ageing per party. |
| Supplier payments | Payments recorded against the orders a supplier ran for you, with advances and pending amounts per supplier. |
| POD | The signed delivery copy, uploaded to an order once the trip is completed and kept with that order's invoice. |
| Reports | A P&L report per completed order with freight, charges, costs and profit, and a GSTIN report of invoices by party. Both export to Excel. |
Each part has its own guide: LR and bilty software for consignment notes, online LR and bilty for creating them in a browser, transport billing software for invoices and payments, and fleet and POD management for trucks, drivers and delivery proof.
Who this truck transport management software is for
BilToz suits transporters and fleet owners who issue LRs and bill parties for freight. It matters most once more than one person touches the paperwork, because everyone reads the same record instead of separate books.
Trucking software for one truck or a whole fleet
There is no minimum number of vehicles or trips. An owner-driver creates orders and LRs exactly as a fleet office does, and the reports work the same way whether the month held ten trips or a thousand.
Transporters, not shippers
Businesses that send goods rather than carry them can open a Company account, which is used to work with transporters but cannot create orders, LRs or invoices.
Logistics management software, or a focused transport TMS?
Logistics management software is a broad label covering warehousing, procurement, freight marketplaces and full ERPs. BilToz is narrower on purpose, and it is worth knowing the edges before you switch:
- No warehouse or inventory management. BilToz tracks consignments on a trip, not stock in a godown.
- No e-way bill generation. You can type an e-way bill number and it prints on the LR; the bill itself comes from the government portal.
- No GST calculation. Invoices print CGST and SGST as Rs 0.00 with a fixed reverse charge (RCM) note, so confirm the treatment with your CA.
- No accounting ledgers or payroll. The P&L and GSTIN reports export to Excel for your CA rather than replacing accounting software.
Getting started
- Sign up with an OTP and choose a Transporter account.
- Complete KYC with Aadhaar and PAN within 30 days of sign-up. GSTIN is optional for Transporter accounts.
- Fill in the company profile with bank details, logo and a signature or stamp. Orders, LRs and parties stay locked until this is done.
- Set your LR and invoice number series under Number Series / T&C.
- Add parties and suppliers, one by one or by sending an Excel or CSV file to support@biltoz.com for a bulk import.
- Create your first order, issue its LR, and once the trip is completed upload the POD and download the invoice.
Frequently asked questions
What is transport management software?
Transport management software, often called a transport management system or TMS, keeps the paperwork and money of each trip in one place: the order, its lorry receipts, the GST invoice, the proof of delivery and the payments for and against it. Transporters use it instead of an LR book, a bill book and a spreadsheet of who has paid.
Is BilToz a full logistics ERP?
No. BilToz covers trip paperwork and the money around it: orders, LRs, invoices, party and supplier payments, POD and reports. It does not do warehouse management, procurement, payroll or accounting ledgers, and it does not generate e-way bills or calculate GST.
Is this trucking software suitable for a single-truck owner?
Yes. There is no minimum number of trucks or trips. A single owner-driver can create orders and LRs the same way a fleet owner does, and every feature is free during the launch period.
What does BilToz cost?
Nothing during the launch period. Every feature costs Rs 0, with no credit card, no trial period and no usage limits. Paid plans may come later, and BilToz will give notice before introducing them.
Do I need GST registration to use it?
No. A Transporter account needs Aadhaar and PAN for KYC; GSTIN and a GST certificate are optional. A Company account, which is for businesses that send goods, does need a GSTIN.
Can my staff and I use it at the same time?
Yes. BilToz runs in a browser, so the office and the loading point can both work on the same records without installing anything.
